A kitchen remodel touches almost every trade: framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, and paint. The work goes well when one contractor owns the sequence and nobody is waiting on anybody else.
Standard Building Company remodels kitchens across Loveland, Fort Collins, and the surrounding Northern Colorado communities. We are a general contractor, so structural changes, permits, and inspections are part of what we do, not something we send you elsewhere for.

Opening up the floor plan
Many Northern Colorado homes have a wall between the kitchen and the living area that owners want gone. Whether it can come out, and what it takes, depends on whether it carries load and what runs through it. We check that before we price the job, and when a beam is needed we handle the engineering and the permit.
Permits
Replacing cabinets and counters in place usually does not need a building permit. Moving plumbing, gas, or electrical, or changing walls, generally does. We pull the permits the scope calls for and schedule the inspections.

Common questions
Can I stay in my house during a kitchen remodel?
Most people do. We isolate the work area to control dust, and we can help you set up a temporary spot for a fridge and microwave so you are not eating out every night.
Do you supply the cabinets and countertops?
We can supply and install them, or install materials you have selected through your own supplier. We will tell you up front what we need and when so the schedule holds.
What drives the cost of a kitchen remodel?
Cabinets and countertops are usually the largest line items, followed by any layout changes that move plumbing, gas, or walls. Keeping the sink and range where they are is the simplest way to control cost.
