Standard Building Company is a commercial general contractor based in Loveland, Colorado. We build for private owners, developers, and public agencies across Larimer and Weld counties and the northern Front Range.
We manage and deliver work across all 33 CSI divisions. Some of it we self-perform, the rest goes to subcontractors we hold to the same standard. Either way, you deal with one contractor who owns the schedule, the budget, and the result.

Hard-bid or negotiated
If your drawings are complete, we will price them as drawn and tell you where we see gaps before they turn into change orders. If your project is still taking shape, a negotiated contract lets us price it alongside the design so the budget and the drawings stay in step.
Working in occupied buildings
A lot of commercial work in Northern Colorado happens in buildings that stay open during construction. We phase the work, control dust and noise, keep exits and accessible routes clear, and schedule shutdowns around your operations.
How a project runs
- 01
Scope and budget
We walk the site or review the drawings with you, define the scope, and build a budget and schedule you can make decisions from.
- 02
Pre-construction
Constructability review, subcontractor pricing, long-lead procurement, and permit submittals happen before anyone mobilizes.
- 03
Construction
One superintendent runs the job. You get a schedule, regular updates, and a clear paper trail on every change.
- 04
Closeout
Punch list, final inspections, certificate of occupancy, and a complete turnover package with warranties and as-builts.
Common questions
What size commercial projects do you take on?
We take on work ranging from small tenant renovations to ground-up buildings. The best way to find out whether a project is a fit is to send us the drawings or walk the site with us.
Do you self-perform work or subcontract it?
Both. We self-perform where it gives the project better control of schedule and quality, and we subcontract specialty trades to firms we know. You have one contract and one point of contact either way.
Can you get involved before the drawings are finished?
Yes. Early involvement is where we save owners the most money. Budgeting, constructability review, and schedule input during design cost far less than fixing the same issues in the field.
